Your Host on the Sea
About the Captain
"A good commander always tries to be the commander that everyone wants to be next to at a time of trouble."
I am Stefano, the proud owner and captain of the Elki4. At 48 years old, despite living in Milan where I work as a company executive, the sea remains my greatest passion—one I've shared with my family while sailing the Ligurian coast for over 20 years.
I hold multiple certifications, including boat operation, onboard safety, VHF/SRC radio control, and first aid. As a skilled freediver and certified scuba diver, I have a deep connection to the water and have accumulated over 4,000 hours of navigation.
I have a profound respect for the sea. I know that a perfectly maintained boat, combined with strict emergency preparedness and stress management, is fundamental to guaranteeing the safety of the entire crew.
Beyond safety, my goal is to provide a warm and welcoming experience. With my extensive knowledge of the local area's hidden gems, I'm always happy to share advice and guide you along scenic routes. As a bonus, I am also an excellent cook and an easy-going host. I look forward to welcoming you aboard!
Our Home: The Cinque Terre
The Cinque Terre (Çinque Tære in Ligurian) is a rugged stretch of coast on the Eastern Ligurian Riviera, located in the province of La Spezia between Punta Mesco and Punta di Montenero. It is home to five famous villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore.
Considered one of Italy's most attractive tourist destinations, these villages overlook the Ligurian Sea and are easily accessible by train or by boat. A sea with crystalline waters, rugged beaches, breathtaking views, and unparalleled hiking trails make Cinque Terre the perfect place to spend a holiday immersed in nature and kissed by the sun.
Monterosso
Monterosso is the largest village in the Cinque Terre with a wide beach that stretches across the entire gulf. It is perfect for families and has a large number of accommodations.
Vernazza
Vernazza features a characteristic harbor and its famous main square enclosed by colorful, typical Ligurian houses. The medieval Doria Castle fortress with its tower overlooks the village.
Corniglia
Corniglia is the only village not directly on the sea, situated on a hill 100 meters high. It's the perfect spot for trekking and nature lovers.
Manarola
Manarola offers special atmospheres, with an up-and-down of alleys and small squares. Its promontory provides a wonderful view, and the small harbor has perfect rocks for a swim.
Riomaggiore
Riomaggiore directly overlooks the sea and is perfect for couples seeking a romantic atmosphere. From its pier, you can admire the best sunsets in Cinque Terre.
Climate
This area of Liguria enjoys the mildest average winter temperatures on the coast, with values close to 9°C (48°F). This favorable climate makes the Cinque Terre an attractive destination even for winter tourism.
